New Crossover Addition Grows Columbus Yachts’ Explorer Range
Columbus Yachts, part of Palumbo Superyachts, has started work on its newest 48-meter Crossover vessel at the Savona facility. This explorer yacht, constructed with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, comes after the delivery of two other Crossovers—measuring 42 and 47 meters. Significantly, this 48-meter model marks the yard’s inaugural self-funded effort in the Crossover lineup.
Design and Engineering: Explorer Performance with Adaptive Deck Areas
Hydro Tec is handling the yacht’s exterior styling and naval architecture in conjunction with the shipyard’s engineering division. The yacht spans 8.6 meters across its beam and drafts to 2.75 meters, delivering both balance and efficiency for long-distance journeys. The silhouette merges explorer-like lines, a bulbous bow, and a sleek rear, boosting capability for bluewater trips.
A standout element is the versatile aft deck, designed to hold a substantial tender or be converted into a swimming pool and lounge area, providing flexibility for owners seeking both practical and recreational amenities.

Guest Accommodation and Interior Configuration
The interior layout accommodates up to 12 guests in six staterooms. The owner’s cabin is positioned on the upper deck, complemented by a VIP suite on the main deck. The other guest cabins are arranged to optimize privacy and comfort for guests on lengthy itineraries.
Columbus Yachts: Advancements and Portfolio
Columbus Yachts, founded in 2008 as part of Palumbo Superyachts, draws on over 50 years of marine industry know-how. The company earned recognition with the 2011 delivery of its first 54-meter superyacht, Prima, and has since led the way in hybrid propulsion, gaining RINA approval for its Sport Hybrid 40m.

The yard produces semi-custom and custom builds from 37 to 120 meters, featuring four primary lines: Atlantique, Crossover, Sport, and Classic. The 80-meter Dragon serves as its flagship, showcasing advanced engineering skills. As a Palumbo Superyachts brand, Columbus Yachts offers dedicated owner services alongside ISA Yachts, Mondomarine, and Extra Yachts.
Project Update
Details regarding delivery and pricing for the 48-meter Crossover have not been announced. The line caters to owners looking for a blend of exploration ability and modern yacht styling.
